I'm so confused...

Conversation with someone I just met:

Her: When are you due?

Me: I'm due on March 27th.

Her: (surprised) That soon, no way?! You are so tiny!!

...Conversation with someone else I just met TEN MINUTES later...

Her: When are you due?

Me: I'm due on March 27th.

Her: (surprised) Wow, are you having twins?!

...well which is it?! I'm either tiny or I'm so huge it looks like I'm having twins! I get this a lot lately, one person will tell me how small I look and another person will tell me I look like I'm ready to pop any minute. I think I'm going to start doing this to new people:

Stranger: When are you due?

Me: Due? What do you mean? I'm not pregnant...

  1. Great idea. I have been quite surprised at how insensitive people are in their remarks about what they think of my changing body. I've also been surprised at just how much I let it bother me! Some nights I'll feel embarrased about my baby bump rather than enjoying it and being proud of it. So stupid.

  2. I remember when I was doing the MA externship in OB I had people making comments about how it was perfect that I was working there with being pregnant. I was only 18 weeks and I really don't think you could tell I was pregnant with wearing scrubs. What if I wasn't pregnant?!? Some people... I think you look fantastic!

  3. Oh the fun things about being Pregnant! I think you look great Meghan! I worked in an OB office for a long time and I saw many prego ladies and you look really good! If it helps you feel better I get people asking me if am due really soon or if I am having twins and I have over three months to go. :( Sometimes I think that there are women who forget about what it is like being pregnant and then there are others who never have been.
