1 // friday: Jace driving the grocery cart as we piled in food for the weekend getaway
2 // saturday: the fizzy alka seltzer that got me through the weekend. just a tip, I much prefer the orange to the cherry...
3 // sunday: a french toast breakfast on the patio in bear lake
4 // monday: hugs for daddy, dinner at kabuki's. And for all you logan peeps, I HIGHLY recommend kabuki's!
5 // tuesday: another snowstorm settles in, and adds two years to the last two days of january.
6 // wednesday: a quote I love framed on the shelf. "There are two gifts we should give our children. One is roots, the other is wings." {and thanks to my good friend Lindsay for making this for me!}
7 // thursday: a blurry picture of the pup stuck in her blanket when we got home for the day.

And then. Oh then, that last picture is from this morning. An extra picture for a special day! This, my friends, was my come to jesus moment of sorts.

I was driving a slightly deserted road on the north end of town. Hotspur was singing through the speakers, and a cold Dr Pepper was next to me in the seat. The sky was the perfect shade of baby blue, a color I hadn't seen it wearing for what feels like years now. And suddenly the blessed sun started to peek out from behind those clouds, and with it I was wrapped in a blanket of all things good. Because today is February 1st. Today I waved good-bye to the January that took five years from my life, with it's below freezing temperatures, it's horribly polluted air, it's runny noses & sore throats, it's snow up to my armpits and it's continuous grey skies. I gave that miserable old January a good kick in the butt, and more than embraced the beginning of the month that is taking us closer to spring. The month that is short and sweet, full of red hearts and sugar cookies. The month that tries to fly by before I can blink. The month I have been looking forward to for what feels like ten years now.

February, you are more than welcome here. And really, thank you for saving us. We love you.
