^^ the country life. I took the pup on a walk at dusk, just us with ingrid michaelson serenading me through my headphones, and it was perfectly serene. sometimes you just need quiet time with a pup, a beautiful view, and some soft tunes to really get your brain reeling.

Do you ever get a craving for something that you know you probably wouldn't like if you had it? I'm not talking about food, no. I'm talking about life.

Lately I've had this country itch. That's not something I need to see my doctor about, by the way. What I mean is that lately I've had the itch for chickens in a chicken coop, maybe a horse or two in a pasture, a couple of goats, and an apple orchard. Or a pear orchard! The kids would gather eggs every morning from the chicken coop, and I'd spend my days making things from scratch, like sourdough bread and sauerkraut.

And anyway, what would I do with all of this? I don't know how to take care of chickens, I'm scared of horses, and I hate picking fruit. I would go crazy if I didn't work a busy job with a coffee in my hand each morning, and how would I live without city lights and a really big h&m store to buy my slouchy t's and skinny jeans? So the irony of this "itch" isn't lost on me.

But nonetheless, I'm real itchy for it. Unrealistically itchy. For acreage and animals and overalls. It's the weirdest thing. I'll blame pregnancy because let's face it, pregnancy does some strange th-angs to me.

Like writers block. It gives me writers block and everytime I sit down at the computer, I can't think of a thing to say! So I'm really sorry about that too.

But I suppose we are all used to meaningless posts around here, and there you go, here's another one! I can't think of anything more to say except that I just baked pinterest's "the best chewy chocolate chip cookies" and, well, they are pretty soft. I'll give them an...8.

I'd really like to clean my house because heaven knows it needs cleaning, but those cookies and my lack of energy are really winning right now. I think I'll go watch you've got mail and pretend that there aren't a million other things I need to be doing.

Don't judge me.
